Balvatika Reopens with New Attractions and Carnival

Balvatika, a beloved destination for families in Ahmedabad, will reopen on Friday, July 25. This reopening comes after a major redevelopment project costing ₹22 crore. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will officially inaugurate the Balvatika Fun Carnival at 6:30 PM.

Originally scheduled to open in April, the launch was delayed due to licensing and safety approvals. The redevelopment aims to enhance the experience for visitors, especially children. This transformation has been carried out under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Balvatika first opened in 1956 and has now undergone significant changes after more than 68 years.

The revamped park will feature many new attractions. Highlights include a snow park, a wax museum, and a transparent glass tower. There will also be 21 adventure rides, a dinosaur park, and various themed areas such as a coin house and a selfie zone. The park is designed to cater to visitors of all ages.

Entry to Balvatika will cost ₹50 for all visitors. However, some attractions, like the snow park, will have an additional fee of ₹450, which includes rental jackets. The park aims to provide both entertainment and educational experiences for children.

In the past, Balvatika generated an annual income of around ₹10 lakh. With the new changes, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) expects total annual revenue to reach nearly ₹40 lakh. This includes a fixed rent and a share of ticket sales.

The Balvatika Fun Carnival promises excitement for families. New features include sports activities, go-karts, and various rides. For instance, the Jumping Adventure allows four children to jump together, while the Dinosaur Train can accommodate eight children.

Additional attractions include the Flying Theater, which offers a thrilling flying experience for eight visitors. Visitors can also explore the Mirror Maze and enjoy a unique adventure at the Snow Park, which simulates a journey through a snowy landscape.

In summary, the reopening of Balvatika marks a new chapter for this historic park. With its fresh attractions and focus on fun, it is poised to become a popular spot for families and tourists alike in Ahmedabad. So, mark your calendars for July 25 and get ready to experience the new Balvatika!
