Celebrating Independence with ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ in Banaskantha

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is set to take place in Banaskantha district, Gujarat, with a strong focus on cleanliness and patriotism. The district collector, Mihir Patel, led a meeting to plan the activities for this year’s Independence Day celebrations. The theme for the event is ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhta’, which translates to ‘Every Home a Flag, Every Home Cleanliness’. This initiative aims to instill a sense of pride in the national flag and promote cleanliness in the community.

The celebrations will occur in three phases. The first phase runs until August 8. During this time, schools across the district will participate in various activities. Students will write letters on the topic of ‘Operation Sindoor’ to the armed forces. Additionally, quizzes will be held through the My Gov portal to engage the students further. Local municipalities will also carry out wall painting projects to beautify the area.

From August 9 to 12, the second phase will take place. This phase includes a grand flag procession in all talukas and at the district level. Iconic locations such as Nadabet and Ambaji will host impressive flag marches. On August 12, a significant flag procession will commence from Palanpur, showcasing the unity and spirit of the community.

The third phase will occur from August 13 to 15. It will include flag hoisting ceremonies in all schools, cultural programs, and a ‘Selfie with the Flag’ initiative. The aim is to encourage community participation and instill a deep sense of national pride among the youth.

Collector Patel emphasized the importance of these events and urged everyone in the district to take part actively. He highlighted the goal of enhancing the dignity of the national flag and fostering a sense of pride for the country. A cleanliness campaign will also run simultaneously, focusing on hand-washing demonstrations and cleanliness pledges to ensure a clean environment during the celebrations.

The collector’s meeting included officials from various departments, including the district development officer, M.J. Dave, and additional collector, C.P. Patel. This collaboration aims to ensure that all activities are well-organised and effectively executed.

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is an opportunity for the people of Banaskantha to come together, celebrate their independence, and promote a cleaner, more beautiful community. With the active involvement of schools, local authorities, and residents, the district aims to make this celebration memorable and impactful. The initiative not only fosters patriotism but also encourages a collective effort towards maintaining a clean and vibrant environment for future generations.
