Cultural Extravaganza to Light Up Ahmedabad’s SG Highway with Navratri Garba

Ahmedabad is gearing up for a vibrant celebration as the third season of Shakti Sandhya Garba returns. The event will take place from September 22 to October 1 near the SG Highway, at a cricket ground close to the Jaguar showroom. This cultural festival promises to be grander than ever before, following the success of its first two editions.

One of the main attractions this year is the return of popular Garba singer Divya Chaudhary. Her performances are expected to draw large crowds from Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and nearby areas. Organisers anticipate more than 10,000 Garba enthusiasts attending each day throughout the ten-day festival.

Shakti Sandhya has transformed into a cultural event that beautifully combines traditional values with modern presentations. This year’s theme is “Tradition Meets Glamour.” The festival will feature contemporary stage designs, immersive decor, and stunning visuals, creating a lively and captivating atmosphere.

Pratik Amin, the event organiser, shared insights about the upcoming season, stating, “Season 3 will be bigger, brighter, and more vibrant. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and premium Garba experience for devotees of Maa Ambe. With curated traditional decor and theme-based experience zones, we aim to create a family-friendly environment that celebrates culture and devotion.”

The venue offers ample parking and good connectivity, making it easily accessible for Garba lovers. This spacious open area is set to provide a perfect blend of high-energy music and a safe, welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for those eager to dance to the joyous rhythms of Garba.

Divya Chaudhary, returning as the main artist, expressed her excitement: “Garba fans in Ahmedabad are energetic, respectful, and deeply connected to tradition. Performing at Shakti Sandhya truly feels like a celebration. I am very excited to be back for this amazing third season.”

With a mix of culture, community, and celebration, Shakti Sandhya Garba Season 3 is set to become one of the most anticipated Navratri events in the city.

In addition to the festivities, SG Highway itself is known for heavy traffic, especially during peak hours. To ease congestion, the government has approved the construction of two new overbridges along the highway. One will connect YMCA Club and Karnavati, while the other will be built between Gota and Nirman. Work on these overbridges will begin after the monsoon.

Despite efforts by traffic police and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to manage the traffic issues, SG Highway remains a hotspot for congestion. Key junctions like Ujala Chowkdi and Karnavati Club Junction frequently experience delays.

The ongoing development around SG Highway reflects its importance as a major route connecting Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. With rising property values and an influx of IT businesses in the area, the highway is becoming a hub for residential and commercial development.

SG Highway is lined with major retail outlets and luxury automotive showrooms, further enhancing its appeal. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has also established paid parking spots along the highway to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles, ensuring a smoother experience for visitors.
