Demolitions Planned for 8,767 Buildings in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad is facing a major change as 8,767 buildings are set to be demolished. This decision comes from the need to improve infrastructure in the city. With the increasing population and number of vehicles, the city needs wider roads. The local municipal corporation has conducted a survey to identify buildings that will be affected.

Most of the buildings affected were constructed before 2010. If a building is more than 50% affected by the demolition, residents will be provided with alternative housing options. This policy aims to make sure that the residents are not left without a place to live.

The survey found that many areas will be impacted. In the northern zone, 1,475 buildings will be demolished. The central zone will see 133 buildings affected. In the western zone, 1,479 buildings are on the list. The southern and eastern zones will also see demolitions.

Specific areas like Kubernagar, Sardar Nagar, and Thakkarbapa Nagar will see a significant number of demolitions. In total, 1,475 buildings in these areas will be impacted. The western areas like Gota, Chandlodia, and Narangpura will also be affected with 1,429 buildings facing demolition.

In Rani P area, more than 280 buildings will be affected. This includes structures along key roads. The municipal corporation has also issued a notice to remove 21 dangerous hoardings in the city. These hoardings pose risks to public safety and must be taken down immediately.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is working hard to ensure that the city can manage its growing population. By opening up more roads and removing illegal structures, they hope to improve traffic flow and safety. This is part of a larger campaign against illegal constructions in the city.

Local officials emphasize that everyone must comply with the law. Buildings that are illegally constructed will face action. The city is determined to send a strong message that no one is above the law, no matter their past record.

As the demolitions begin, the city will also be providing information on the alternative housing arrangements for those affected. This is a critical step in ensuring that residents are cared for during this transition.

The municipal corporation is committed to making Ahmedabad a safer and more accessible city for all. The demolitions are expected to start soon, and residents are advised to stay informed about the changes in their areas.

In conclusion, Ahmedabad is on the brink of significant change. With thousands of buildings set to be demolished, the city aims to improve its infrastructure and provide a better living environment for its residents. The municipal corporation is taking steps to ensure that the process is smooth and that all impacted residents receive the support they need.
