Dr. Kirit Patel Meets Officials to Address Patan’s Crumbling Roads

Patan, a historic city in Gujarat, is facing significant challenges with its roads. Dr. Kirit Patel, the local MLA, recently met with city officials to discuss the poor condition of these roads.

The state of the roads has become a serious issue for residents. Many areas in Patan are struggling due to damaged infrastructure. For instance, the service road beneath the newly built T-shaped overbridge is in disrepair. This has caused major inconvenience for the citizens.

The problems have arisen due to various projects carried out by the Gujarat Urban Development Company (GUDC). These include underground sewage lines, electrical cabling, and drainage systems. As a result, many roads have become unusable. The situation on Rajmahal Road, especially under the new overbridge, has worsened significantly. Potholes on these roads have also led to accidents, raising safety concerns among the residents.

During his meeting, Dr. Patel discussed the road issues with Alpeish Patel, the Chief Officer of the municipality, along with engineers and contractors involved in the overbridge project. He urged them to carry out immediate repairs on the potholes on the service road.

In addition, Dr. Patel pointed out the flooding problem in areas like Siddhraj Nagar, Raj Nagar, and Devpuri Society. The low-level roads in these areas make it difficult for rainwater to drain properly. To tackle this issue, Dr. Patel expressed his willingness to allocate funds from his grant for repairs.

Patan, known for its rich history, was once the capital of Gujarat. Founded in the 8th century, it has seen many ups and downs over the centuries. Today, it is a centre for education, trade, and culture. However, the city’s roads need urgent attention to ensure the safety and convenience of its residents.

Dr. Patel’s commitment to resolving the road issues shows his dedication to the community. By working with local officials and using his resources, he aims to improve the quality of life for the people of Patan. The city’s historical significance should not overshadow the need for modern infrastructure that meets the demands of its residents.

Immediate action is crucial. The residents of Patan are hopeful that the discussions will lead to effective solutions. They deserve safe and accessible roads that reflect the city’s rich heritage and its potential for growth in the future. As the situation develops, the community looks forward to seeing positive changes in their city’s infrastructure.
