Emergency on IndiGo Flight at Ahmedabad Airport

On Wednesday, an IndiGo flight heading to Diu from Ahmedabad faced a serious emergency. The flight, an ATR76, experienced an engine fire just before takeoff. There were 60 passengers on board. As the plane was preparing to take off, the pilot sent a Mayday call to Air Traffic Control (ATC), prompting immediate action to halt the flight.

The incident occurred around 11 AM. All passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft without any injuries. Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway. This incident follows another alarming event just a day prior, when an Air India flight caught fire at Delhi airport.

On Tuesday, Air India Flight 315, arriving from Hong Kong, experienced a fire in its Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) shortly after landing. The APU, located at the rear of the aircraft, is crucial for powering systems when the engines are off. The fire could have caused significant damage to the aircraft.

Earlier on the same day, another Air India flight, AI2403, heading from Delhi to Kolkata, had to be grounded due to a technical fault. Reports indicate that the aircraft was on the runway, ready for takeoff with 160 passengers, when the issue was detected.

These incidents raise concerns about flight safety in India. The authorities are expected to review safety protocols to prevent such emergencies in the future.

Ahmedabad Airport, officially known as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, is one of the busiest in India. It has faced scrutiny in the past regarding its safety measures, especially with the increasing number of flights. The airport is crucial for both domestic and international travel and is a key hub for airlines operating in the region.

The recent fire incidents have sparked discussions about the need for better safety measures at airports. Passengers are advised to stay alert and report any suspicious activity. The aviation authorities are working hard to ensure that such emergencies are handled swiftly and effectively to protect the safety of all passengers.

As investigations continue, more information will be released regarding the causes of these incidents and the steps being taken to improve safety at airports in India. Passengers and their families are urged to remain calm and patient during this time as the authorities work to ensure safe travel for everyone.
