In a heartfelt ceremony held in Bhachau, Kutch, Gujarat’s Governor Acharya Devvrat distributed essential aid to over 100 disabled individuals. This event was organized by the Shri Navjeevan Viklang Seva Ashray Sanstha. The governor emphasized that disabled individuals are an integral part of our society and deserve our support. He praised the organization for its continuous efforts in empowering the disabled and providing them with tools that promote self-reliance.
Among the items distributed were electric and manual tricycles, wheelchairs, calipers, and smartphones. These tools aim to enhance the mobility and independence of disabled individuals. During his address, the governor acknowledged the challenges faced by parents of disabled children and urged society to cultivate compassion and assist those in need. He stated that a person who lacks empathy for the needy is as hard as stone.
The governor also highlighted the importance of natural farming for the welfare of humanity. He noted that the Prime Minister has allocated significant funds to promote natural farming across the nation. He warned about the dangers of chemical fertilizers, linking them to serious health issues like cancer and diabetes. He urged farmers to adopt natural farming methods for the health and wellbeing of the community.
The event also featured a cultural performance by mentally challenged children, which received warm applause from the audience. The founder of the Shri Navjeevan Viklang Seva Ashray Sanstha, Vishalbhai Joshi, shared the organization’s journey since its establishment 32 years ago, emphasizing their commitment to the welfare of disabled persons in Kutch and Saurashtra.
As the governor concluded his speech, he reiterated that bringing the disabled into the mainstream is a collective social responsibility. He encouraged everyone to participate in initiatives that support disabled individuals and foster an inclusive society. The event not only provided much-needed equipment to the disabled but also served as a reminder of the ongoing efforts required to uplift and empower all members of society, especially those facing challenges.
