Extra Buses Launched for Janmashtami Celebrations in Gujarat

As Janmashtami approaches, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has announced a special plan to accommodate the surge of passengers during the festival. This year, GSRTC will run 1,200 extra buses to ensure that people can travel comfortably to their destinations. Janmashtami, which celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, attracts many devotees who travel to various religious sites in the state, especially in Saurashtra.

The decision to add more buses comes in light of the increased demand for transportation during major festivals. In the last 48 hours alone, nearly 198,667 seats have been booked online, showing the public’s trust in the GSRTC services. This follows a successful operation during Raksha Bandhan, where over 334,000 passengers utilized the ST services.

The extra buses will run on routes connecting major cities and important religious sites, helping passengers reach their villages and celebrations with ease. The GSRTC has prioritised the comfort and convenience of travelers during festival times, making this move highly commendable. It allows millions to participate in the festivities without facing travel issues.

During previous festivals, such as Raksha Bandhan, a total of 6,000 extra bus trips were operated, benefiting around 315,000 passengers. This year, the number of trips has been increased to 6,500, aimed at providing better access to those traveling for both Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami.

The additional services will cater to various locations, including rural, district, and taluka areas, as well as major cities like Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Mehsana, and Vadodara. Special bus services will also be available to pilgrimage sites like Dakor, Dwarka, and Shamlaji, enhancing convenience for devotees.

Overall, GSRTC’s preparations reflect a strong commitment to ensuring a smooth travel experience for passengers during the festive season. With these extra buses in place, many will be able to celebrate Janmashtami with ease and joy, highlighting the importance of community and tradition in Gujarat.
