The upcoming Janmashtami weekend has sparked a surge in flight ticket prices from Ahmedabad to Goa. As the festival approaches, prices have soared to an astonishing ₹21,000 for a one-way ticket. Normally, flights to Goa cost around ₹4,000, but the festive season has changed that dramatically.
The long weekend from August 9 to August 17 is filled with holidays, including Rakshabandhan on August 9, Independence Day on August 15, and Janmashtami on August 16. This period is perfect for short vacations, and many Gujaratis plan to visit Goa during this time. With such high demand, ticket prices are expected to increase further, potentially reaching ₹30,000.
Goa has always been a favourite holiday spot for people from Gujarat, especially during Janmashtami. Reports indicate that the demand for flights spikes just days before the festival. Interestingly, some travelers have found that flights to Dubai are cheaper than those to Goa during this peak period.
The Janmashtami festival, locally known as Satam-Atham, not only attracts tourists but also sees an increase in illegal gambling activities. Many Gujaratis travel to Goa to visit casinos, which adds to the high airfare costs.
As families prepare for the celebrations, many are left shocked by the steep prices. Travel agents suggest booking flights well in advance to avoid these inflated costs. It is a common trend that during festive seasons, airlines increase their fares to maximise profits, and this year is no different.
For those still looking to travel, alternative strategies include searching for off-peak flights or considering other destinations. Some might find it worthwhile to explore nearby locations that could also offer a great experience without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, the Janmashtami weekend is shaping up to be an expensive travel period for those looking to fly from Ahmedabad to Goa. With the high demand and rising ticket prices, it is advisable to plan ahead to ensure a smooth and affordable travel experience.
