In Gandhinagar, a serious fraud case has emerged involving a visa consultancy. The consultancy, located in Sector 16, is accused of scamming two families out of 45 lakh rupees under the pretext of providing UK work permits. The police have initiated an investigation against three individuals connected to this case.

The fraud came to light when Kajalben Rahul Kumar Nayi, a resident of Harshidhdhnagar in Sector 24, filed a complaint. She claimed that Mehulbhai Rajeshbhai Soni, who runs the visa consultancy, and Jinalben Panchal from the Kudasan Pramukh Avenue Complex, promised to secure UK work permits for her and her family for 30 lakh rupees.

This incident highlights a troubling trend where many people are being deceived by fake visa consultancies. These scams often target individuals dreaming of working abroad, especially in countries like the UK. Such fraudulent activities have been on the rise, prompting authorities to take action.

Kajalben’s complaint led to the police filing charges against the accused, who are now under investigation. The authorities are currently gathering evidence and interviewing potential witnesses to build a case.

Police sources indicated that these consultancies often exploit the aspirations of individuals seeking better opportunities abroad. Many times, victims are promised quick and easy paths to foreign employment, only to find themselves cheated out of large sums of money.

The victims often face additional problems when they realize they have been scammed. They may have already made financial commitments based on false promises, leaving them in precarious situations. In many cases, victims do not report the fraud out of fear or embarrassment, which only allows these scammers to continue their operations.

To combat this issue, authorities are urging individuals to conduct thorough research before engaging with any visa consultancy. They recommend verifying the legitimacy of the consultancy by checking their registration and looking for reviews from previous clients. Additionally, potential emigrants should be cautious of any offers that seem too good to be true.

The police have also advised people to report any suspicious activities or scams immediately. This proactive approach can help prevent others from falling victim to similar fraud.

As the investigation continues, the authorities hope to uncover more information about this particular consultancy and its operations. They are also looking into whether there are other victims who may not have come forward yet.

This case serves as a reminder of the risks associated with trying to secure work permits through unofficial channels. It is essential for individuals to stay informed and cautious, ensuring they are not taken advantage of by unscrupulous individuals looking to exploit their dreams of a better life abroad.
