In Ahmedabad, the Collector Office has made significant progress in resolving legal disputes. A total of 680 new cases have been recorded in the last six months, while 1,087 cases were resolved swiftly. This initiative has greatly benefitted the local farmers and landowners.

On July 16, 2025, the Collector Office held hearings for 501 cases in just one day. These cases involved land sales, wills, inheritances, and rights issues. The rapid hearings are part of a campaign to streamline the process and reduce backlog. For the past two months, the office has been conducting hearings for over 100 cases daily.

The breakdown of case resolution shows that on June 21, 2025, there were 648 cases heard, and on July 16, 2025, the count was 501. Impressively, there are no pending cases older than six months, and hearings for cases registered as early as January 2025 have been completed.

In detail, from February 2025 to July 15, 2025, the following new cases were documented: February saw 92 new cases with 38 resolved, March had 177 new cases with 163 resolved, April recorded 93 new cases with 253 resolved, May included 152 new cases with 301 resolved, and June noted 130 new cases with 202 resolved. As of mid-July, there were 36 new cases with 130 resolutions.

Overall, the legal team at the Collector Office has ensured that the resolution rate exceeds the input of new cases. The goal of this campaign is to help people resolve land title disputes that have lingered for years, allowing them to proceed with selling, inheriting, or cultivating their land more effectively.

Since March 2025, hearings have been held not only on Mondays and Thursdays but also on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to manage the caseload better. Each session typically addresses over 100 cases.

This effort is vital for farmers who have faced delays in transactions due to prolonged disputes. The quick resolution of cases related to sales, wills, inheritances, and rights issues will simplify many processes for the community.

Overall, the campaign has resulted in a total of 1,410 orders issued, including 323 petitions for prohibition that were also resolved. The Collector Office’s proactive approach and the legal team’s guidance have significantly improved the situation, ensuring that people can now engage in land transactions without hindrance.

The swift resolution of legal matters not only helps individuals but also contributes to the economic stability of the region by clearing the way for agricultural activities and land development.
