Gujarat RTO Inspector Caught on Camera Assaulting Truck Driver

In a shocking incident in Dahod district, Gujarat, a truck driver was brutally assaulted by an RTO inspector. The attack took place on the Ahmedabad-Indore highway near Asaidi village. The driver, Nasirbhai, was reportedly beaten for not stopping at a checkpoint. Eyewitnesses say that Inspector V.K. Parmar and two other staff members threw a barricade in front of Nasirbhai’s moving truck, causing a tire to burst. As a result, the driver was forcibly pulled from his vehicle and beaten with a stick.

A passerby, Vineshbhai Rawat, captured the entire incident on video. He stated, “We saw two to three men hitting the driver brutally. I started recording, and when they noticed me, one of them threw away the stick and approached our car.” This video has since gone viral, sparking widespread outrage on social media. Citizens are demanding immediate action against the officials involved.

Nasirbhai, currently hospitalised, expressed his despair. He said, “I kept asking why they were hitting me, but they didn’t stop. I told them I was ready to pay whatever fees they wanted, but they just kept beating me.” His pleas for mercy were ignored during the brutal attack.

In his defense, Inspector Parmar claimed that the truck driver tried to flee, leading to the use of force. He stated, “When the vehicle didn’t comply and damaged the barricade, we used a pipe to scare the driver—not to beat him. The driver tried to flee, and we have filed a complaint at the Piplod police station for obstructing government work.” However, locals have accused RTO officials of rampant extortion in the area, saying that this is not the first time such violence has occurred.

A member of the local drivers’ union commented, “They stand at toll booths and extort money in the name of entry fees. Beating a driver like this is inhumane.” The public is calling for an impartial investigation into the incident. Many believe that officers should not misuse their power in such a violent manner.

The incident has raised serious concerns about law enforcement agencies and their conduct in Gujarat. As of now, authorities have not issued an official statement, but pressure is mounting for immediate action against the officers involved. The public is demanding accountability to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future. The use of violence by those in positions of authority must be addressed to restore faith in the system. This incident serves as a grim reminder of the need for oversight and accountability in law enforcement. The RTO must ensure that officers uphold the law without resorting to brutality. The citizens of Gujarat are watching closely as the events unfold.
