Gujarat is experiencing a pause in rainfall as the monsoon seems to be on vacation. According to the weather department, there is no forecast of heavy rain in the state until August 13. Currently, the southwest monsoon winds are blowing, but they are not bringing rain. Over the last 24 hours, light rain has been reported in some areas of Kutch, Saurashtra, central and southern Gujarat.

The weather department predicts some medium rainfall with thunder and lightning in various places from August 7 to 13. However, no heavy rainfall is expected during this period. The monsoon trough over the sea has moved to regions in the north-east towards Arunachal Pradesh, causing a decrease in rainfall in parts of Gujarat.

Weather experts noted that temperatures have risen since August 7 or 8, which is unusual for early August. Typically, temperatures do not reach such highs in the first week of August. The maximum temperature usually ranges from 26 to 29 degrees Celsius. There might be a slight drop in temperature in the coming days, but no significant rainfall is expected.

Wind speeds are also expected to decrease. Currently, winds are blowing at speeds of 16 to 20 kilometers per hour, but this may reduce to 12 to 15 kilometers per hour. This reduction in wind speed and temperature could lead to some cloud cover in the region.

The state has not seen significant rainfall in recent days, leading many to believe that the monsoon may be coming to an end. However, weather experts suggest that a new round of rainfall could begin soon. They forecast showers in various parts of the state, especially in Saurashtra and Kutch, but also in other areas.

Predictions indicate that by the end of September, there may be a considerable chance of rainfall across Gujarat. This is associated with an active weather system that could bring substantial rain around September 24 and 25.

As the dry spell continues, residents are feeling the heat. The weather has been uncomfortably warm, akin to summer conditions, especially during the afternoon hours. Some areas, like Chhota Udaipur, Dahod, and Godhra, may experience scattered showers, while regions like Valsad, Vapi, Navsari, Dang, and Ahwa could see heavier rainfall.

In conclusion, while the current weather may seem dry and warm, there is hope for refreshing rains in the near future. Residents should stay tuned to weather updates as conditions change. With the potential for rain, there is a possibility of relief from the heat, making it a welcome change for everyone in Gujarat.
