Heavy Rain Forecast in Gujarat Until July 17

In Gujarat, heavy rain is expected in several districts until July 17. The weather department has issued yellow alerts for places like Navsari, Valsad, and Daman. After some days of reduced rainfall, the intensity is set to increase from July 14. The weather forecast indicates that northern and central Gujarat will see increased rainfall during this period.

On July 12 and 13, districts including Navsari, Valsad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Aravalli, Mahisagar, and Dahod are expected to experience heavy rainfall. Additionally, alerts have been issued for over 11 districts, including Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, and Panchmahal. Heavy rain is also anticipated with thunderstorms in certain areas from July 16 to 17.

The entire state is forecasted to receive moderate rains in the next seven days. There will be thunderstorms as well. Currently, reservoirs in Gujarat are at 54% of their total storage capacity due to the monsoon. The Sardar Sarovar project, a crucial part of the state’s water supply, has 49.42% of its capacity filled.

Warnings have been issued for fishermen not to venture out to sea for the next five days due to rough conditions. The weather department has cautioned that strong winds of 30 to 40 km/h are expected along the coast.

The weather map reveals that heavy rains are predicted for Navsari, Valsad, and Daman today, July 12. Rain intensity may rise from July 13. Heavy rain is also forecast for Amreli, Bhavnagar, Aravalli, and other districts.

The weather department has noted a decrease in rainfall recently, with only 70 out of 68 talukas (sub-districts) reporting rain. However, some areas have seen significant rainfall, like Dolvan with 1.14 inches.

Overall, the forecast suggests that the rainfall will pick up again soon, especially after July 12. The monsoon trough is active, which contributes to the expected rainfall. In the last week, rainfall levels have varied across districts, with some experiencing heavy rains while others saw lighter showers.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and advise residents to stay informed about weather updates. The water level in reservoirs is crucial for agriculture and drinking supplies, especially during the monsoon season. Farmers and residents in flood-prone areas should remain cautious and prepared for any emergencies.

With the upcoming forecast, the people of Gujarat are hopeful for the much-needed rains that support agriculture and replenish water sources. The state has a rich history of monsoon rains benefiting its economy and environment, and the current predictions are seen as a positive sign for the coming weeks.
