Heavy Rain Washes Away Agathala-Dhanera State Highway

The Agathala-Dhanera State Highway, which connects the Lakhani Taluka to Dhanera, has been washed away by the first rain of the season. The construction work on the road was still incomplete. Only the asphalt layer was pending. Unfortunately, heavy rain overnight damaged all the work that had been done. In low-lying areas, soil had been filled to level the ground. After that, metal and concrete were laid. However, the rain washed away all these materials into the nearby fields, creating large craters on the road. The craters are so deep that a whole vehicle could get stuck in them. Locals reported that the road work had been ongoing for the last six months. The ground was levelled from Agathala to Dhunsol. MLA Keshaji Chauhan had made a request to the government for this road. As a result, the highway’s width was approved to be increased from 3.5 meters to 7 meters, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the people. However, with the first rain washing away the road, residents find themselves in a difficult situation. The lack of a proper road now affects their daily commute and transportation of goods. The monsoon season is crucial for farmers in the region, and a reliable road is essential for them to access markets. This incident has raised concerns among residents about the quality of road construction and the need for better planning. They are urging the local authorities to take immediate action to repair the road and prevent such occurrences in the future. The affected residents are anxious about how they will manage their travel needs during the rainy season. The local government has promised to investigate the situation and find a solution. Residents hope that their voices will be heard and that the road will be repaired quickly to restore connectivity in the area. They believe that reliable infrastructure is vital for their community’s growth and development. The importance of timely repairs cannot be overstated, as delayed action may lead to further deterioration of the road and increased hardship for the locals. As the community waits for a response from the authorities, they remain hopeful for a swift resolution to this pressing issue.
