In Patan city, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has successfully caught a home guard employee, Rajeshkumar Kantilal Vaishnav, accepting a bribe of ₹2,000. This operation took place on August 11, 2025, and was initiated after a complaint was filed by a fellow home guard. The complainant reported that Vaishnav was demanding the bribe to approve a salary bill of ₹12,000.
The complainant did not want to pay the bribe and decided to report the matter to the ACB. Following this, the ACB set up a trap at the Patan Home Guard Unit office. During the operation, Vaishnav was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant. The ACB has seized the bribe money and has begun legal proceedings against him.
The operation was supervised by Police Inspector M.J. Chaudhary and Assistant Director K.H. Gohil. They confirmed that this was part of the ACB’s ongoing efforts to fight corruption in Gujarat. The ACB has been active in recent months, successfully conducting multiple operations to bring corrupt officials to justice. The team is now conducting further investigations into the case.
Bribery remains a serious issue in many sectors within Gujarat, and the ACB’s work is crucial in addressing these challenges. Many citizens are encouraged to report any corrupt practices they witness, as it helps in making public services more transparent and accountable.
