Illegal Logging in Kalol: Green Trees Cut Without Permission

In Kalol, illegal logging is becoming a serious issue. Trees, especially Mahuda, are being cut down without any permission. This is happening along Malav Road and the Narmada Canal. Reports indicate that loggers are cutting trees in the rural areas of Pingali and surrounding villages. They are openly cutting down trees and loading them onto tractors. This activity is causing significant harm to the environment.

From early morning, workers are seen using machines and axes to cut down green trees. They load the cut logs onto overloaded tractors and transport them to surrounding areas. These tractors are often seen on public roads, heading towards sawmills in Gondal and Vejalpur.

The authorities seem to be inactive. Despite the visible destruction of trees, no action has been taken to stop these illegal activities. Locals are concerned about the increasing number of loggers in the area and the damage they are causing to the environment. There is growing public talk about whether local authorities will take legal action against these wood traders.

In addition to the illegal logging, there have been reports of a disturbing double murder in the Pingali village. Shivabhai and Vasantben Rathod were found dead in their home. Initial investigations suggest that the couple was murdered during a robbery attempt. Shivabhai, aged 52, and his wife, aged 48, sustained severe injuries from sharp weapons.

Witnesses say that the crime shocked the entire community. The Rathods had three sons, one of whom works with the police, while another is in the health department. The police have launched an investigation into the murders, trying to identify the suspects and motives behind the attack.

The local authorities are now under pressure to act. Citizens demand stricter laws to protect their environment and ensure safety in their communities. Both issues, the illegal logging and the violent crime, highlight the urgent need for better enforcement of laws in Gujarat.

As the situation develops, many hope for swift action from the authorities. Community members are rallying together to call for more attention to these pressing issues. The people of Kalol want their voices heard, and they want their environment and safety protected.
