A new bus service from Umiya Mataji Chowk in Unjha to Salangpur has begun today. The bus will leave at 5:30 AM and reach Salangpur at 11:30 AM. This service is launched by the Unjha ST Bus Depot, with support from local leaders. Present at the inauguration were Unjha MLA Kiritbhai Patel and the regional director, Y.K. Patel. They were joined by Jignaben Patel, the chairperson of Unjha municipality, and Hetalben Patel, the manager of the Unjha ST Depot. The new bus will travel through Mehsana, Adalaj, Sarkhej, Bavla, and Dhandhuka before arriving in Salangpur.
The Umiya Mata temple is an important pilgrimage site for the Kadva Patidar community. The temple is dedicated to Umiya Mata, a form of Goddess Parvati. The community has a rich history associated with this temple, which was established by King Vrajpal Singhji in 156 CE. It has been a place of worship for generations, where daily rituals are performed.
The Umiya Mata temple is not only a religious site but also a cultural hub for the Kadva Patidar community. Many members of this community have settled abroad, establishing temples and institutions that serve to maintain their cultural identity. Events such as the grand silver jubilee celebration of the temple took place in November 2009, attracting thousands of devotees.
The new bus service will help more people visit the Umiya Mata temple, which is a significant site for both religious devotion and community gatherings. It is expected to boost local tourism as well as provide easier access for devotees wishing to pay their respects at the temple.
This development is part of broader efforts to improve transportation in the region, making it easier for communities to connect with important cultural and spiritual sites. The service will also support local businesses by increasing foot traffic in the area around the temple.
In conclusion, the launch of the new bus service from Unjha to Salangpur not only facilitates travel for devotees but also strengthens community ties and promotes local culture. The Umiya Mata temple continues to be a beacon of faith and unity for the Kadva Patidar community, both in India and abroad. As the service begins, it is a hopeful sign for increased access to cultural heritage sites in Gujarat.
