New Opportunity for Students Missing Admissions in HNGU Colleges

In Gujarat, a new chance has arisen for students who missed their admission to colleges affiliated with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University (HNGU). As of now, only 31,118 applications have been submitted for 62,000 available seats across 500 colleges. This means about 50% of the seats are still open. To address this, the GCAS portal has been reopened for students to fill out their application forms.

Students can apply from May 29 until June 13. After submitting their forms, they will need to verify them at the college between June 13 and June 16. The first merit list will be released on June 21. Following this, the second merit list will be published on June 25, the third on June 28, and the final list on July 2. Currently, many students are visiting the GCAS center at the university to submit their applications.

Additionally, the admission process for undergraduate courses will also be conducted through the GCAS portal. A quick registration process has already started, and it is expected that the full application process will begin soon.

This initiative is significant because many students were left without a college placement due to the lack of applications. The reopening of the portal gives them another chance to secure their future in higher education. It is essential for students to take advantage of this opportunity and submit their applications on time.

In related developments, there has been concern over irregularities in exams at Pranti College. A student leader, Yuvaraj Singh, raised issues regarding the conduct of exams in MSc Semester-4. He demanded accountability from the university, citing irregularities not only at Pranti College but also in other courses like B.Ed and nursing at HNGU-affiliated colleges.

The university has responded to these concerns by forming a three-member committee to investigate the allegations. This committee will review CCTV footage, reports from senior and junior faculty, and other relevant documents. The registrar has assured that the investigation report will be prepared in the next few days, and necessary actions will follow.

Students are encouraged to remain vigilant and involved in the processes affecting their education. The reopening of the GCAS portal is a crucial step in ensuring access to education for all students in Gujarat. As the admission process unfolds, students should stay informed and proactive to secure their spots in college.
