A new rest house called Ren-Basera has been inaugurated at the Dharpur Medical College and General Hospital in Patan, Gujarat. This facility aims to help the relatives of patients who need to stay close to their loved ones during treatment. The foundation stone was laid by the district collector on Wednesday. The new rest house will provide accommodation and meals at affordable rates, making it easier for families from distant villages to support their loved ones. They will be able to stay close during surgeries and treatments.
Dr. Parulben Sharma, the superintendent of Dharpur Hospital, mentioned that the facility will have four floors. The ground floor will have dining facilities, accommodating up to 120 people at once. The first two floors will feature dormitory-style rooms, which can accommodate around 180 individuals. Each room will allow two people to stay together. Relatives of patients will have access to these facilities at a nominal charge.
The project is expected to be completed within the next 6 to 8 months. Collector Tushar Bhatt noted that this rest house will mark a new chapter in hospital services and ease the difficulties faced by patients’ families. The event was attended by the dean of the medical college, hospital staff, doctors, and local leaders.
This initiative is seen as a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility for families in need. The rest house will not only provide a place to stay but will also ensure hygiene and safety for all residents. As healthcare accessibility becomes increasingly important, this rest house is a much-needed addition to the hospital’s services.
Dharpur is a small village in the Patan district, situated in the northern part of Gujarat. The village primarily relies on agriculture, with wheat, mustard, millet, and cotton being the main crops. The community also engages in livestock farming. Facilities like primary schools and community buildings support the local population, enhancing their quality of life.
With the new rest house, families can now focus on what truly matters – their loved ones’ health – while having a safe and comfortable place to stay nearby. This initiative is expected to significantly improve the hospital experience for both patients and their families, fostering a supportive environment during challenging times.
