New Train Service Launched from Bhavnagar to Ayodhya

On August 3, 2025, a new weekly train service from Bhavnagar to Ayodhya was inaugurated by the Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw. The event took place at the Bhavnagar railway station. This service is expected to enhance connectivity and boost tourism between these two important locations. Along with the Bhavnagar-Ayodhya Express, two other express trains were also launched: Rewa-Pune and Jabalpur-Raipur.

The inauguration saw the presence of dignitaries, including Chief Ministers from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, who joined via video conferencing. Minister Vaishnaw emphasized that the Bhavnagar-Ayodhya Express train would connect culture and faith, bringing more visitors to Bhavnagar. He mentioned that the train would greatly benefit local businesses and tourism.

The new train service is designed to meet the growing demand from passengers. It will significantly improve travel options for those going on spiritual journeys to Ayodhya, a city that holds great religious significance. The minister highlighted that this initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to modernize and expand railway services across the country.

In addition to the new train service, Vaishnaw announced plans for two new railway terminals in Bhavnagar and a port container terminal. He also mentioned that a new train from Porbandar to Rajkot would soon operate daily. Other infrastructure improvements included new maintenance facilities for coaches at Ranavav station and a new flyover in Bhavnagar city.

The minister detailed how the development of the railway network in India has transformed over the past eleven years, with 34,000 kilometers of new tracks laid and 1,300 stations being upgraded. He praised the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards railway modernization and the introduction of new technologies.

The event was attended by local officials, railway staff, and a large gathering of residents. They celebrated the launch with enthusiasm, marking a significant step forward for transportation in the region. The new services are not only expected to ease travel but also to foster economic growth and cultural exchange.

Passengers can now register for free travel on the inaugural train service, highlighting the government’s focus on making rail travel accessible. This initiative reflects a broader goal of enhancing connectivity and boosting regional development through improved railway infrastructure.

As Bhavnagar continues to grow economically and culturally, this new train service to Ayodhya is a vital link for travelers and an important step in the ongoing development of India’s railway system. The launch has been welcomed by many, who see it as a bridge between Bhavnagar’s energy and Ayodhya’s spiritual heritage.
