On Saturday, the ‘PM Kisan Utsav Day’ was celebrated across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed aid to farmers through a virtual event from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Over 52.16 lakh farmer families in the state received more than ₹11,118 crore through direct benefit transfer (DBT). The Prime Minister released the 20th installment of the PM Kisan scheme for the beneficiaries.
In Patan, the celebration took place at the university convention hall under the chairmanship of Yamalbhai Vyas. During this event, the virtual distribution of aid under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme was observed, along with a live broadcast of the event held in Gandhinagar, chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel.
In Patan district, a total of 1,87,785 farmers received ₹2,000 each, amounting to ₹40.09 crore in aid via DBT. Chairman Yamalbhai Vyas stated that the Prime Minister has started many schemes to double farmers’ incomes. The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme was launched in 2019, and today marks the release of the 20th installment of aid. This day is a proud moment for every farmer, as the funds are transferred directly to their accounts through DBT. The central and state governments have undertaken significant initiatives to ensure the economic stability and improvement of farmers.
The PM Kisan scheme aims to provide financial support to farmers, ensuring they receive a total of ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments. Each installment is ₹2,000, provided every four months. Since its launch, the scheme has benefited over 11 crore farmers nationwide, confirming the government’s commitment to rural development and agricultural prosperity.
Farmers receive the funds directly in their bank accounts, ensuring transparency and efficiency. The PM Kisan Utsav Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the efforts made by the government to support farmers and improve their livelihoods. With the 20th installment, the total distribution under this scheme has exceeded ₹3.45 lakh crore.
Farmers who have not yet received their funds can file complaints via the PM Kisan helpdesk. The helpline is available from Monday to Friday, and farmers can also send their issues via email. It’s important to note that KYC verification is mandatory for farmers to receive the funds. This measure helps prevent fraud and ensures that the benefits reach the eligible farmers.
In summary, the PM Kisan Utsav Day in Patan was not just a celebration but also a reminder of the government’s continuous efforts to uplift the agriculture sector. By promoting direct benefit transfers and involving technology in agriculture, the government aims to enhance farmers’ income and ensure their prosperity. This event marks a significant step towards achieving sustainable agricultural development in Gujarat and across India.
