On August 2, police in Udaipur, Rajasthan, raided a rave party at Hotel Ganesh located on Kodiyat Road. The operation resulted in the detention of 51 individuals, with 36 of them hailing from Gujarat. This raid followed a tip-off about illegal activities including prostitution and the serving of illegal liquor at the party.
The police received information that the party’s organiser, Vishwajit Solanki, had arranged for women to perform provocative dances and engage in prostitution. To confirm these claims, an undercover police officer attended the party as a customer. Once the officer verified the reports, police swiftly moved in to conduct the raid.
As the police entered the hotel, panic erupted among the attendees. Several individuals attempted to escape by climbing to the rooftop or fleeing through the hotel. However, police were able to detain them. The arrested individuals came from various regions, including Rajasthan, Delhi, and Maharashtra, but the majority were from Gujarat.
During the raid, police seized a significant amount of illegal liquor, sound systems, and three large vehicles, including a bus used to transport guests from Gujarat. The authorities have filed cases under laws pertaining to prostitution and liquor violations, along with several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Additionally, charges were filed under the Rajasthan Noise Pollution Act since loud music was played after 10 PM in a sensitive eco-zone near Sajjangarh. The detention list includes prominent names such as hotel owner Vishwajit Solanki and a broker named Manjulaben from Ghatlodia in Ahmedabad.
The complete list of the detained individuals from Gujarat is extensive. It includes various people from different towns and cities, such as Nikunj Anilbhai from Ahmedabad, Bhavin Gangani from Jamjodhpur, and many others from locations like Talala Gir, Junagadh, and Surat.
Reports indicate that during the raid, several men and women were found in compromising situations. Some were under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Local sources mention that illegal activities at Hotel Ganesh had been ongoing for some time and were under police scrutiny. After multiple complaints from the public, the police finally decided to take action using a decoy operation to confirm their suspicions before executing the raid.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about illegal activities in the region and the police’s efforts to combat such issues. The community’s response to the raid has been mixed, with some residents expressing relief that action has been taken, while others fear the impact on local businesses and tourism.
As investigations continue, police are working to gather more information about the participants and the extent of the illegal operations at the hotel. The authorities have urged anyone with further information regarding such events to come forward to help prevent similar occurrences in the future.
