The Bhadravi Poonam Fair in Ambaji is set to take place from September 1 to 7, 2025. This fair attracts millions of pilgrims who come to pay their respects to Maa Ambaji. Recently, a meeting was held at the Kalidas Mistry Bhavan in Ambaji with service camp organisers, led by District Collector Shri Mihir Patel. The focus of the meeting was to ensure smooth arrangements for the fair.
Collector Patel stressed the importance of cleanliness during the fair. He stated, “Cleanliness is a service mantra. We will put special emphasis on maintaining cleanliness during the event.” He also announced an increase in the number of tractors for waste disposal. Special arrangements will be made for managing food waste as well. The collector assured that measures would be taken to ensure pilgrims face no difficulties during their visit.
The fair is expected to attract a large number of devotees, and the local administration is preparing to manage traffic effectively. This includes ensuring that all guidelines provided by the temple trust are followed by the service camp organisers. The number of pilgrims expected this year is anticipated to rise, and all necessary arrangements will be made by the district administration and the government to facilitate smooth access to the temple.
During the meeting, District Development Officer M.J. Dave noted that a cleanliness drive will take place in Ambaji before the fair begins. Each tractor assigned for waste management will have cleaning staff on duty. Pilgrims and service camp organisers were urged to maintain cleanliness as well. Presentations were made by the local administrative officials, highlighting the facilities that will be available for pilgrims this year.
More prasadam distribution centres will be set up to ease the flow of pilgrims. CCTV cameras will be installed around the fair area, and there will be live LED coverage. Other facilities will include parking, lighting, health services, e-rickshaws, free meals, and luggage centres. Over 1,500 cleanliness workers will be dedicated to maintaining cleanliness during the fair.
An online portal will simplify the registration process for service camps, ensuring that all permissions are granted smoothly. Service camps will be located on the left side of the road, and volunteers must register and carry identification cards. Parking stands will be established, and CCTV cameras will be mandatory at service camps. Recognising the effort of service camps, awards will be given based on inspections after the fair.
The meeting concluded with service camp organisers interacting with the district collector, praising the arrangements and collaborating to ensure a successful event.
