The Bhadravi Poonam Fair in Ambaji is set to take place from September 1 to 7, 2025. This fair attracts millions of devotees to the sacred site. Recently, a meeting was held at the Kalidas Mistry Bhavan in Ambaji, led by District Collector Mihir Patel. The meeting discussed arrangements to ensure a smooth experience for all visitors during the fair.
Collector Patel emphasised the importance of cleanliness, stating, “Cleanliness is service.” Special measures will be put in place to manage waste, including an increase in the number of tractors for garbage disposal and specific arrangements for food waste management. The aim is to avoid any inconvenience for the devotees.
To prevent traffic issues, detailed planning will be implemented. The temple trust has requested cooperation from service camp organisers to ensure adherence to instructions. This year, the number of permits for pilgrims is expected to increase, allowing more devotees access to the fair.
M.J. Dave, the District Development Officer, shared plans for a cleanliness drive in Ambaji ahead of the fair. Each tractor assigned for cleanliness will have workers on duty. Pilgrims and service camp organisers are encouraged to maintain cleanliness voluntarily.
During the fair, additional facilities will be provided for pilgrims, including more food distribution centres. CCTV cameras, LED live coverage, adequate parking, lighting, health services, e-rickshaws, and water supply will be available. More than 1,500 cleaning staff will work around the clock to keep the area clean.
For service camp registration, an online portal will ease the process, and all necessary permissions will be granted smoothly under the collector’s guidance. Camps will be set up on the left side of the road, and all volunteers must register and carry identification cards. Stands for footwear will also be established at the camps, and mandatory CCTV installation will be enforced.
At the end of the fair, awards will be given to service camps based on their performance, encouraging better service and organisation.
The meeting was attended by various officials, including the Ambaji Administrator and Additional Collector Kaushik Modi, who presented a detailed overview of the preparations. The significant increase in footfall during the fair highlights the need for proper arrangements to ensure that all pilgrims can visit the temple without difficulty.

Devotees from all over India and abroad arrive in large numbers to participate in the celebrations.
