In a heartwarming story from Bharuch, a woman named Kusum Devi, who had been missing for seven months, was joyfully reunited with her family. This reunion was made possible by the efforts of the Sevayajna Committee, who worked tirelessly to bring her home.
Kusum Devi, a resident of Ludhiana in Punjab, went missing after she was found injured near Vagda in Bharuch. She had suffered a road accident in February 2025, resulting in a fractured leg. Due to her mental health issues, she was unable to communicate or understand her situation.
After the accident, Kusum was taken to the civil hospital in Bharuch for treatment. However, her mental state made it difficult for her to receive proper care. Consequently, the Sevayajna Committee took her to an orphanage, where she would be looked after while receiving the necessary medical attention.
Himanshu Parikh, a volunteer from the Sevayajna Committee, interacted with Kusum during her stay at the orphanage. Through counselling sessions, she eventually revealed her name and her address in Ludhiana. Despite her struggles to understand, she showed signs of improvement after three months of treatment under the care of Dr. Sunil Shrotriya, a specialist in mental health.
Eventually, Kusum was able to remember her family details and provided the address of her home. The Sevayajna Committee promptly contacted the Ludhiana police, who confirmed her family’s location. With the help of the police, Kusum’s husband and brother travelled to Bharuch to reunite with her. Their joy at finding Kusum alive was palpable, and they expressed their gratitude to the Sevayajna Committee for their relentless efforts.
Kusum’s husband, Dheeraj Kumar, shared that they have four children and that she had been missing since January 22, 2025. They had searched tirelessly, distributing posters and involving the police, but had lost hope of ever finding her.
Thanks to the collaboration between the Sevayajna Committee and the Punjab police, Kusum was finally brought back to her family. This reunion not only brought happiness to her family but also highlighted the importance of community support in times of crisis.
The Sevayajna Committee is known for helping those in need, particularly in Bharuch where incidents of accidents and missing persons are common. They provide shelter, care, and support to individuals until they can reunite with their families. Their dedication to helping the vulnerable showcases the power of compassion and community service.
In conclusion, the story of Kusum Devi is a testament to the strength of family bonds and the impact of social work. It reminds us that even in difficult times, hope and support can lead to joyful reunions.
