RPF Ahmedabad’s Remarkable Efforts in July 2025

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Western Railway Ahmedabad Division has shown impressive dedication to safety and security during the month of July 2025. Under the leadership of IG and Chief Security Commissioner Ajay Sadani, RPF launched the “Service is Commitment” initiative from July 1 to July 14. They focused on ensuring the safety of railway premises, passengers, and infrastructure. Here are some highlights of their commendable work during these two weeks:

1. **Operation Narcos**: RPF seized illegal drugs worth around ₹63,000. They arrested two individuals after checking their bags at the railway station. These individuals were handed over to the Government Railway Police for further legal action.

2. **Operation Satark**: RPF conducted thorough checks on various passenger trains and railway stations, leading to the discovery of four cases of illegal liquor smuggling. They seized illegal liquor worth ₹35,800 and arrested two suspects, who were also referred to the railway police for legal proceedings.

3. **Operation Yatri Suraksha**: In a bid to protect passengers from theft, RPF apprehended nine individuals attempting pickpocketing in crowded areas of several passenger trains and stations. These suspects were handed over to the railway police for further action.

4. **Operation Amanat**: The RPF displayed a commitment to helping passengers by returning lost belongings. They successfully returned property worth approximately ₹286,000 to eight passengers who had lost their items while travelling.

5. **Operation Rail Suraksha**: RPF arrested one suspect involved in the theft of railway property, demonstrating their vigilance in protecting railway assets.

6. **Operation Jeevan Raksha**: RPF saved a woman who was attempting to board a moving train. Their quick action prevented a potentially tragic incident, highlighting their commitment to passenger safety.

7. **Operation Samay Palan**: RPF took action against 42 individuals who pulled chains in 63 cases, disrupting train services. Legal action was initiated against them under railway laws.

8. **Operation Jan Jagran**: RPF launched awareness campaigns across their posts to educate the public about safety. They used banners and announcements to inform passengers about the dangers of crossing railway lines, throwing stones at trains, drug abuse, women’s safety, and human trafficking. Videos were also displayed on the Railway Display Network (RDN) at Ahmedabad station to raise awareness.

These initiatives reflect RPF’s continuous commitment to ensuring the safety and security of railway passengers. Their proactive measures and community outreach efforts have made a significant impact, enhancing the overall travel experience for many. The RPF encourages everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Together, we can create a safer railway environment for all.
