Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Faces Stock Shortage in India Due to High Demand

Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, is experiencing an unprecedented demand for its latest smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold7. This demand has led to stock shortages in several markets across the country. Samsung announced that it is taking steps to increase production at its Noida factory to meet this rising demand.

In just 48 hours after its launch, Samsung reported receiving a record 210,000 pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold7 and its sibling models, the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. This high demand indicates that foldable smartphones are becoming more mainstream in India.

Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President of MX Business at Samsung India, expressed gratitude to the tech-savvy consumers in India. He acknowledged the shortfall of stocks in many markets and assured that the company is working hard to ensure that customers can enjoy the Galaxy Z Fold7 as soon as possible. He noted that the demand is coming from both retail and online sales channels.

Retail partners have also reported similar trends. Nilesh Gupta, Director at Vijay Sales, stated that the Galaxy Z Fold7 is performing exceptionally well across their stores. Many top outlets in key cities have already run out of stock. He remarked that customers are excited about the innovative features and premium experience offered by the device.

Sandeep Singh Jolly, Chief Operating Officer at Electronics Mart India Ltd (Bajaj Electronics), echoed this sentiment, noting that flagship stores in urban areas are seeing stock depletion due to high demand. Uvaraj Natarajan, Founder and CEO of Poorvika Mobiles, confirmed that stocks of the Galaxy Z Fold7 are selling out as soon as they are delivered to their stores.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is being marketed as the slimmest and lightest foldable smartphone in the series, weighing just 215 grams. It measures 8.9 mm thick when folded and 4.2 mm when unfolded. The smartphone is available in attractive colours such as Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Mint, and Jet Black.

Samsung has made significant improvements in the design and features of the Galaxy Z Fold7. The device includes an enhanced Armor FlexHinge, which reduces visible creasing and makes it lighter. The cover display is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, and the frame is made of stronger Armor Aluminum, which increases durability.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, offering impressive performance boosts. It features a 200MP wide-angle camera that captures four times more detail and produces images that are 44% brighter than its predecessors.

With the introduction of One UI 8, the Galaxy Z Fold7 offers a seamless multitasking experience combined with intelligent tools. Google’s Gemini Live feature allows users to share their screens in real time while interacting with the AI assistant. Additionally, the Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) provides enhanced privacy by creating app-specific secure storage environments on the device.

This surge in demand for the Galaxy Z Fold7 highlights a growing trend towards foldable smartphones in India. As consumers become more interested in innovative technology, Samsung appears to be solidifying its position as a leader in this market segment. With plans to ramp up production, the company aims to satisfy the eager customers waiting to get their hands on this advanced smartphone.
