Scholarships Awarded to Students by Diwan Ballubhai Alumni Association

In Ahmedabad, the Diwan Ballubhai Alumni Association has held a remarkable event this year, just like previous years. This event aims to encourage students by awarding scholarships and prizes for their achievements. Around 300 students from classes 5 to 12, both in English and Gujarati mediums, received scholarships amounting to a total of 400,000 rupees. These awards celebrate excellence in academics, sports, and cultural activities.

The leaders of the association, Mr. Kshitij Thakor and Mr. Tapan Oz, shared that the main goal of this initiative is to motivate students and also to remember the founding members of the institution.

Many of the scholarships are named after respected figures such as the late Thakorbhai Saheb, Kachhi Saheb, Kanti Patel Saheb, Nilaben Mehta, Ramanand Patel Saheb, Rasikbhai Mehta Saheb, Gunwant Patel Saheb, and Dashrath Patel Saheb. This naming pays tribute to their contributions to education.

This year, the program has introduced a special addition. Friends from the 1975 batch have created a “Betty Padhao Scholarship” in memory of the late Sarvopamaben Chhaya, with a fund of 800,000 rupees. This scholarship aims to promote female education, which is an important step in empowering women. Additionally, former student Mr. Pradeep Dalal from the 1967 batch is also contributing by providing various scholarships for different classes and subjects.

The event took place at the English medium Diwan-Ballubhai Secondary School in Kankaria, celebrating the remarkable achievements of the students. It served as a platform to recognize the hard work, discipline, and excellence displayed by the young achievers.

Members of the alumni association, including Kshitij Thakor, Jayant Shah, and Anish Gandhi, added prestige to the event, demonstrating the ongoing support from the extended family of the school.

A special moment of pride was the recognition of Mr. Harshil Mehta, a distinguished former student and chief guest, who exemplifies dedication to public service and success. His inspiring journey, from classroom achievements to notable ranks in GPSC exams, left a profound impact on the students.

The highlight of the program was the award distribution, where talented students were honored for their excellence in academics. Amidst thunderous applause from peers, teachers, and parents, distinguished guests presented cash prizes and certificates.

Principal Mrs. Alka Ben Sapre praised the students’ efforts in her speech, emphasizing the importance of hard work, values, and holistic development. Mrs. Surekha Ben Rajput, from the primary section, was also present at the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, celebrating the success of the students and the school’s commitment to their future.
