Sure Real Pictures, a new production house based in India, has announced its first feature film, ‘Liberation’. The company was founded by Kanishk Kadam and Ankit Kadam, who aim to create stories that connect with younger audiences, particularly Gen Z and Millennials. The film is currently in production and aims to reach a global audience.
‘Liberation’ tells the story of James, a student from a wealthy family. He decides to drop out of school, feeling a deep sense of purposelessness. As he struggles with family expectations and societal pressures, he becomes obsessed with revenge against a world he sees as meaningless. His journey takes a dark turn as he plots to kill a famous singer to make his mark on the world.
Throughout the film, James meets various characters that shape his understanding of life. One of them is Dorothy, a street worker who fights for survival, and Boss, a manipulative figure driven by greed. The narrative explores themes of rebellion, self-discovery, and redemption, ultimately leading James to find his own form of liberation.
Kanishk Kadam, the producer, has extensive experience in the Indian entertainment industry. He has worked under the guidance of respected theatre director Arvind Gaur and has been involved in various roles within film and theatre. His hands-on approach can be seen in every aspect of ‘Liberation’, from casting to location planning.
Ankit Kadam, the director and writer, has a background in computer science but has chosen to pursue his passion for filmmaking. He has previously created three short films before taking on ‘Liberation’. Ankit is also a member of the Screenwriters Association in India and has completed a directing course at Sundance Collab in the USA.
Sure Real Pictures focuses on creating impactful narratives that resonate with today’s youth. The company aims to bridge local stories with global perspectives, ensuring that their content is both culturally significant and universally relatable. In addition to ‘Liberation’, they are already developing new film projects and a web series.
Kanishk Kadam expressed excitement about launching the company with ‘Liberation’, stating, “Our goal is to tell stories that are authentic, bold, and relatable.” Ankit emphasized the film’s personal nature, highlighting its exploration of meaning in a complex world.
As the production progresses, Sure Real Pictures aims to redefine storytelling for a new generation. They believe in the power of cinema to inspire and challenge, making them a promising player in the entertainment industry.
In a world filled with distractions, ‘Liberation’ seeks to spark conversations about identity, purpose, and the societal challenges faced by young people today. With its gripping narrative and rich character development, the film is set to resonate deeply with its audience.
As the film nears completion, fans of innovative storytelling can look forward to a film that not only entertains but also encourages reflection on the struggles and aspirations of today’s youth.
