Traffic Disruption on SG Highway in Ahmedabad for Six Months

In Ahmedabad, a major traffic disruption is set to occur on the SG Highway. A stretch of about 100 metres between Karnavati Club and YMCA will be closed for six months. This closure is due to the construction of an elevated corridor, also known as a flyover. The project is handled by the National Highway Division of Ahmedabad. They have already installed the bridge pillars at the site. Now, they will begin to install girders on these pillars. This work will continue around the clock for the next six months.

Despite the closure on one side of the highway, the opposite side will remain open. Traffic from ISKCON to Sarkhej will not be affected. This news comes from a police notification released on Monday. The Ahmedabad Police Commissioner has provided information about the traffic changes.

For those driving from Sanand and Sarkhej towards YMCA Club, alternate routes have been suggested. Vehicles should take a left turn at YMCA Club. Then, drivers should turn right at Bhagwan Circle. After that, they will need to take another right at Zaveri Circle, also known as Chakri Circle. Following this route will help drivers reach Karnavati Club and then rejoin the SG Highway.

It is important for citizens to stay informed about these changes. The Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) for Ahmedabad City has advised all drivers to pay attention to the new traffic patterns. This construction aims to improve the traffic flow in the area once completed. However, for the next six months, drivers will need to adjust their routes and allow extra time for travel.

The elevated corridor is expected to ease congestion on the busy SG Highway. This road connects many important areas in Ahmedabad. The construction will help in managing the increasing number of vehicles in the city. As Ahmedabad grows, improving infrastructure becomes crucial.

In conclusion, while the closure of a section of SG Highway will cause short-term inconvenience, the long-term benefits should be worth it. Drivers are encouraged to follow the alternate routes and stay updated on the progress of the construction. With patience and cooperation, the disruption can be managed effectively.
