Traffic Problems at Palanpur’s Aroma Circle Submitted to Collector

Traffic issues at Aroma Circle in Palanpur are becoming deadly. In just one week, two innocent lives have been lost due to accidents. Despite this, local authorities have not taken any solid actions. The former president of Palanpur Municipality, Amrutbhai Joshi, has submitted a written request to the district collector, Mihir Patel. He is asking for the re-issue of a traffic diversion notification that had previously helped ease the situation.

Aroma Circle and Hanuman Tekri areas suffer from heavy traffic, causing great distress to local residents. After the last notification was issued, traffic problems improved significantly. People were very happy and expressed their gratitude towards the government and administrative bodies. However, with the expiration of the previous notification, heavy traffic has returned to Aroma Circle, Hanuman Tekri, and Garhamaan Circle.

Recently, a retired employee, Chouhan Raja Bhai Dharmabhai, lost his life in a serious accident near Aroma Circle. Just yesterday, a young work assistant, Gineshbhai Joshi, aged 26, tragically died in an accident near Garhamaan Circle. This highlights how the traffic problem has become life-threatening. Therefore, Amrutbhai Joshi has requested the collector to extend the previous notification and issue a new one for traffic diversion until February 20, 2025.

Joshi has appealed to the collector to take a personal interest in the matter. He urged the collector to coordinate with the relevant officials and quickly call an urgent meeting. The goal is to issue a new notification to divert heavy vehicles onto alternate routes to ensure public safety. If necessary, he suggested contacting the Chief Minister and the Secretary of the Roads and Buildings Department, P.R. Patel, for further assistance.

The collector had previously issued a notification to ease traffic problems at Aroma Circle. Heavy vehicles heading towards Disa and Ahmedabad will now be diverted through specific routes. This notification will be in effect from February 24 to March 17. It aims to reduce congestion at Aroma Circle, which frequently experiences heavy traffic.

Heavy vehicles from Aburoad heading to Disa will take the Chitrasani-Vagarol route, while those heading towards Ahmedabad will use the Dhaniyana-Chokdi route. This is part of the collector’s effort to ensure that students do not face difficulties during upcoming board exams. Strict action will be taken against heavy vehicle drivers who violate the traffic rules set by the notification.

Residents of Palanpur can expect some relief from the traffic issues for a while, but it is clear that more permanent solutions are needed to protect lives and ensure road safety in the area.
