A shocking incident occurred in Ahmedabad when a police constable was killed by his wife, who then took her own life. The couple had been living in the Dhanilimda police lines. Mukesh Parmar, a constable in the traffic division, was allegedly attacked by his wife, Sangeeta, during an argument. Witnesses reported that the couple had frequent disputes, often related to Mukesh’s alleged affair with another policewoman.
On the day of the incident, a fight broke out between Mukesh and Sangeeta. The argument escalated, and during the heated exchange, Sangeeta struck Mukesh with a wooden post. This blow caused serious injury to Mukesh’s head, leading to severe bleeding. Neighbours heard the commotion and attempted to intervene but were unable to prevent the tragedy.
After the attack, Mukesh was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. Sangeeta, distraught over the situation, returned home and took her own life by hanging herself.
Their nine-year-old son witnessed the entire event. After the incident, he managed to open the door and inform the neighbours, who quickly called the police. Authorities arrived at the scene and confirmed the deaths of both parents.
Joint Police Commissioner Jaypal Singh Rathod stated that they are currently investigating the case. Initial reports suggest that Mukesh, originally from Jasdan in Rajkot, had been living with his wife for some time, but had also been in a relationship with another female constable. This complicated personal life reportedly led to conflicts between the couple.
The tragic deaths have left the community in shock. Neighbours described the couple as generally quiet but mentioned that arguments had increased in frequency. In light of this incident, police officials are looking into the background of both individuals to uncover the full story.
This incident raises concerns about domestic violence and mental health issues among police personnel. As investigations continue, the police aim to provide support for the couple’s son, who is now left without parents. Community leaders are calling for more awareness and resources to help those dealing with domestic disputes before they escalate into violence.
The police have assured the public that they will thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths and are committed to preventing such tragedies in the future. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing mental health and relationship problems before they turn deadly.
