Tragic Incident in Vadavali Village: Family Attempts Suicide Over Love Marriage Threats

In a shocking incident in Vadavali village, Chansma, four members of the same family attempted suicide by consuming poison. This tragic event occurred on Tuesday afternoon and has left the local community in mourning. The family consists of a father, Baldev Rawal, his wife, Kamuben, their son Vimal, and his wife Priya. They reportedly took this drastic step after facing threats from the family of Priya due to their love marriage.

The situation escalated when Vimal married Priya against the wishes of her family. It is believed that the threats intensified, leading the family to feel hopeless and trapped. Madhavi, the daughter of Baldev, spoke about the threats her family received. She explained that they were being harassed by Priya’s relatives, who demanded that Vimal return Priya. They allegedly received threats through phone calls and visits to their home.

After consuming the poison, the family members were rushed to Chansma Hospital. From there, they were transferred to Dharpur Hospital for further treatment. The news of this incident has shaken Vadavali village, with many residents expressing their sorrow and disbelief.

Vimal, who is currently receiving treatment, shared his experience of the threats. He mentioned that Priya’s family had been aggressive, demanding their daughter back and making threats against his life. He stated, “They said that they could harm us and that the police would not take any action against them.” Priya added that her family was pressuring them with threats and harassment, leading them to feel there was no escape.

Dr. Ankita Patel, the medical officer at Dharpur Hospital, confirmed that all four family members were admitted for treatment. She noted that Priya had mentioned that they had been under mental stress from Priya’s family for some time. Priya and Vimal had married a month earlier, and since then, they had faced persistent harassment.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of couples who choose to marry for love in a society that often imposes traditional norms. Many in the village are calling for justice and protection for families facing similar situations. Priya voiced her desire for action against those who threatened them, stating that all those who harassed them should face consequences.

This tragic event highlights the need for greater awareness and support for individuals in love marriages, especially in rural areas where traditional expectations can lead to dire consequences. The local authorities are now investigating the threats made against the family, and there is hope that this will bring about change in how such cases are handled in the future.
