Vatsalyam 2025: A New Era of Parent-School Collaboration

Delhi Public School in Bopal recently hosted its Annual Parenting Conference named ‘Vatsalyam’. This event took place at Abhivyakti and focused on Total Parenting Solutions. The conference welcomed many parents, particularly those with children in grades VI and VII. It was a vibrant gathering that showcased the long-standing partnership between the school and its parent community, which has developed over the last 30 years.

The Principal, Ms. Sabina Sawhney, opened the event by warmly welcoming everyone. She highlighted the leadership of Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff, the MD & CEO of Kalorex Group. Dr. Shroff’s commitment to child safety and education was praised. The conference celebrated the completion of 122 Total Parenting Solutions sessions. This achievement underscored the importance of collaboration between parents and schools in today’s fast-changing world.

A key highlight of the conference was a Fireside Chat featuring Dr. Shroff and Mr. B. Anantha Krishnan, the CEO-Operations of Kalorex Group. They discussed the vision and practical aspects of Total Parenting Solutions. Dr. Shroff also addressed the pressing issue of digital addiction and its impact on mental health. She shared strategies to regain digital balance and promote mindful usage among children.

Moreover, the conference stressed the significance of open communication between parents and children. It emphasized that parents should share responsibilities at home to foster a supportive environment for their kids.

During the event, Ms. Jayashree Kad, Director of Future Learning Design and Training, launched the Parent Community Network (PCN). This network aims to build a collaborative and informed parent community. Ms. Kad outlined the purpose of the PCN, which is to provide a platform for discussing key parenting topics. She highlighted that active parental involvement is crucial for raising resilient children in today’s unpredictable world.

Adding to the charm of the conference was a special Book Signing Session with Dr. Shroff. Parents had the unique opportunity to receive signed copies of her books, making the experience even more memorable. In addition, all parents were given saplings as part of a Green Initiative. This gesture, along with the Healthy Living Initiative, reinforced the school’s commitment to the well-being of its community.

As the conference concluded, parents left with practical strategies for holistic parenting. They gained insights into promoting digital well-being and engaging more deeply with their children. The event provided a valuable opportunity for parents to connect with Dr. Shroff and learn more about raising future-ready kids.

The success of the Vatsalyam conference underscores the importance of fostering strong ties between parents and schools. It reflects a growing recognition of the need for collaboration in navigating the challenges of modern parenting. By working together, parents and schools can create a supportive environment that helps children thrive.
