Surat has witnessed shocking violence in the last 12 hours. Two young men were murdered in separate incidents. The first incident took place in the Pandesara area. Two brothers were attacked by eight men armed with knives while they were preparing to drop one of them home.
One of the victims, 34-year-old Mitu Kedarbhai Pradhan, was a resident of Lakshminagar in Pandesara. He worked in a government office to support his family. Mitu was with his brother, Kishan, and a friend named Santosh when they were ambushed. The attackers were led by a man named Badri, who is known for illegal liquor trade in the area.
Reports say Badri slapped Mitu and Kishan before attacking them with a large knife. Mitu suffered four knife wounds to his stomach, which proved fatal. Santosh also sustained three stab wounds in the same attack. Kishan received a cut on his hand. Police have arrested four suspects related to this incident.
The second murder occurred later that night. A 21-year-old man named Raj Shuklal Arwal was killed in a seemingly trivial incident. Raj lived with his family in Kamrej’s Amboli village and helped support them by dealing in scrap metal.
Around 9:30 PM, Raj went to deliver water to his cousin at the Manasrovar Society. He called his father at 10 PM to say he had been stabbed by a man named Shiva. Raj’s family rushed to the scene only to find Shiva attacking Raj in front of them. Tragically, Raj died while receiving treatment.
These violent events have left the community in shock. Residents are calling for increased police presence and better safety measures. The local police are investigating the incidents and working to apprehend all those involved. The families of the victims are devastated and seeking justice.
Community leaders are urging the youth to stay away from violence and gangs. They are calling for peace and unity to prevent such tragedies from happening again. This violence raises serious concerns about safety in the area and the influence of anti-social elements.
Surat has been known for its vibrant culture and hardworking citizens. Such incidents pose a threat to its social fabric. The police need to take strict action against those who indulge in crime to ensure the safety of all residents.
As the investigation continues, the community hopes for a swift resolution and justice for Mitu and Raj. Their families are in mourning, and the people of Surat stand together in solidarity against violence and crime.
