On July 15, 2025, MEGA ITI Kubernagar celebrated World Youth Skill Day with great enthusiasm. This event was graced by the presence of local MLA Dr. Payal Kukrani. During the celebration, over 1,060 students were awarded job offer letters from prestigious companies before completing their training.
The job letters were presented by MLA Dr. Kukrani, highlighting the success of MEGA ITI in placing students in various industries. The monthly salaries offered range from ₹15,000 to ₹24,000, showcasing the significance of these placements. Students proved their skills, contributing to both their pride and the institute’s reputation.
World Youth Skill Day aims to address the challenges of youth unemployment globally. It was established by the United Nations on November 11, 2014, to raise awareness about the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment and entrepreneurship. Since the first celebration in 2015, various programs have been organised to promote skill development among youth worldwide.
The event at MEGA ITI Kubernagar is a testament to ongoing efforts in Gujarat to enhance skill development and employment opportunities. The state government has initiated multiple skill development programs under the Skill India Mission, aiming to empower young people and prepare them for the job market.
Present at the event were Ketan Patel, Joint Director of DGET Delhi, and other dignitaries from the education and industry sectors, who acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the students. The placements signify a remarkable achievement for MEGA ITI and reflect the institute’s commitment to bridging the gap between education and employment.
Furthermore, the theme for World Youth Skill Day 2024 focuses on ‘Skills for Peace and Development,’ emphasizing the need for young people to be equipped with skills that can contribute to sustainable development. In Gujarat, the government is actively working on various projects to enhance skill development, including the establishment of new ITIs and upgrading existing facilities.
The importance of skill development cannot be overstated, especially in a country like India, where youth form a significant portion of the population. The government’s initiatives aim to create a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of emerging industries.
As we celebrate World Youth Skill Day, it is crucial to recognize the role of educational institutions like MEGA ITI in shaping the future of young people. By providing them with the necessary skills and opportunities, these institutions help foster a generation that can contribute positively to society and the economy.
In conclusion, the celebration at MEGA ITI Kubernagar not only marks an important day for skill development but also highlights the ongoing efforts in Gujarat to empower youth. The success of the students serves as an inspiration for others to pursue their dreams and build a better future.
