Young Man Killed in Juhapura Dispute: Five Arrested

In a tragic incident in Juhapura, Ahmedabad, a young man was killed over a minor dispute with neighbours. The incident took place late on Sunday night at the Sanklit Nagar area. Nineteen-year-old Sufiyan was attacked after an argument broke out regarding spitting betel leaves in front of a house. The argument escalated, leading to violence as several individuals attacked Sufiyan with knives.

Sufiyan belonged to a family that runs a clothing business near the Three Doors area. His father, Mohamadsafi Sheikh, was present during the altercation. The conflict began when Mohamadsafi confronted his neighbour, Arif Khalifa, about his family spitting betel leaves on their doorstep. This confrontation led to a heated argument between both families.

During the argument, Sufiyan’s family members tried to intervene. However, the situation quickly spiralled out of control. Sufiyan, along with his relatives, rushed outside to defend his father. Unfortunately, Arif, along with his relatives, armed themselves with knives and attacked Sufiyan. He was stabbed multiple times in the chest and abdomen.

Sufiyan was immediately taken to SVP Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The police, upon receiving the news, promptly arrived at the scene and registered a case against six individuals, including Tahir Khalifa, Tariq Khalifa, Ayan Khalifa, Shah Rukh Khalifa, and Akram Maniyar. They have since been apprehended, while one suspect, a woman named Tabassum, is still at large.

The police are currently investigating the incident, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing CCTV footage from the area to gather more evidence. A senior police officer stated that the dispute stemmed from a seemingly trivial issue but escalated due to existing tensions between the families. The investigation is ongoing, and police teams are actively searching for the remaining suspect.

This incident has shocked the local community, highlighting the dangers of escalating disputes. Neighbours are now expressing their concerns about safety and the need for better conflict resolution in their community. The police are urging residents to report any disturbances before they escalate into violence.

As the investigation continues, local authorities hope to prevent similar incidents in the future by promoting dialogue and understanding among neighbours. In a statement, the police emphasised the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully and seeking help when necessary.

The death of Sufiyan has left his family in grief, and the community is mourning the loss of a young life. His father, who is recovering from injuries sustained during the incident, has called for justice for his son. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the consequences of unchecked disputes and the need for community support to foster a peaceful environment.
